When your daughter’s favorite show is Bluey, and she’s turning the big two-ey, it’s clear what to do-ey! Mama Bre Sheppard went all out for her daughter Taya’s 2nd birthday, complete with a beautiful color palette, scrumptious caramel cake and of course, lots of Bluey decor. Here’s how she made it happen!
Name of party: Taya Turns Two-ey
City: Seattle, WA
Theme: Taya loves the kids’ TV show Bluey, so we did a play on words…Taya Turns Two-ey! The theme colors were mainly blue and orange, with pops of pink.
Evite invitation: Preppy Plaid
Venue: Our home
Cake and dessert: Kendal Jean Bakes made the most incredible brown butter & caramel cake. She did a peach/pink base and details of blue, and then I added the Bluey figurine and candle on top. It was the perfect pop of color for the party. Her cakes are incredible!
Food: We made a few charcuterie boards, goat cheese & fig bites, and caramel with apples.
Florals: We kept it simple with white hydrangeas.
Beverages: OLIPOP, orange juice and Poppi drinks.
Decor: Most of my decor was from Etsy and Amazon. I bought a balloon arch kit and then other colors of pink & orange balloons to add to it. We added a large Bluey balloon as well! I have made a few balloon arches, and it helps to have the balloon pump haha! I bought some little Bluey and Bingo cutouts for the charcuterie board, orange and blue twisted candles from Amazon, and plates/cups/napkins from Etsy.
Favorite gifts received: Taya loves drawing, and she got an art easel that is so cute. Lots of drawing notebooks, markers, and some new fake food for her play kitchen.
The surprise hit: I knew the cake was going to be delicious (we bought a cake from the same baker last year) but it was so amazing and everyone was loving it. It was gorgeous but we were also obsessed with the huge layers of caramel in the cake.
Party favors: I bought a set of white party bags from Amazon and inside them, I added BEAR fruit roll snacks, an Honest juice box, a custom Bluey drawing from Etsy that said “Taya Turns 2”, washable markers, a gecko from the episode of Bluey called “Sticky Gecko,” two small notepads for drawing, smiley stickers, and Bluey straws. The girls all got hair scrunchies as well.
Outfits: Taya’s dress was a blue tulle dress from Amazon!

Long story short, SignUp Sheets save everyone involved tons of time, avoid scheduling headaches and ensure everything runs smoothly before and during the event.
Creating a signup sheet has never been easier than with Evite! Here’s how to create a sheet that’s sure to make your event an absolute success:
When it comes to signup sheet information, there are some essentials to include regardless of what you’re organizing:
When adding your slot information, clearly define what people are signing up for, especially for a what-to-bring list or role assignments. If you want someone to bring healthy snacks for kids to enjoy after a game, specify that. You want your volunteers to feel confident in what they’re bringing and to make it easy for them to know what’s expected of them. It will save them time and stress (and you, too!). That being said, if you make your ask too specific (for example, asking for a hard-to-source item or something expensive), you may not end up with a volunteer for it. So be clear about what you expect, but also be reasonable!
Aside from providing the basic signup information, you can also add optional descriptions to both your entire signup sheet and individual slots. While not required, they can help guide your volunteers further and provide more information. You can add information about allergies, preferences and general info about the event. You can also add a wish list to make it easier for your volunteers to bring exactly what you need!
Signup sheet templates offer a ton of advantages for both organizers and volunteers and with Evite SignUp Sheets, you'll enjoy even more benefits than other digital and paper signup sheets! Some benefits our signup sheet templates offer include:
