Anyone that’s ever thrown a surprise party for someone knows that keeping it a secret is the hardest part of the planning. So what do you do when that person happens to be Kathy Hilton? Well, if you’re Nicky Hilton, you team up with sister Paris to concoct an irresistible cover story, send a beautiful invitation out to some VIP guests, and stock up on lots of rosé and bubbly! Here’s how Nicky surprised her mom with a party she’ll never forget.
We told my mom since I was in town we should do a lunch with my mom at Paris' new house and see the baby. We have been filming for season 2 of “Paris in Love” and told her she should go into glam just in case they start filming while we were there.
The theme was garden party, and the heavy rains in LA brought the party inside, but we were immersed with floral designs all around. We even had a build-your-own floral bouquet cart, where guests were able to take bouquets of flowers home with them.
My mom loves to do pranks and surprise people, so we thought we would turn the tables on her!
The look on her face when she walked in the door and we yelled "SURPRISE!" She was so confused and then happy—it was a special moment.
More about the party
Over 90 friends and family of Kathy Hilton gathered at her daughter Paris' new home in Beverly Park to celebrate Kathy's birthday with a garden party theme The party was co-hosted by Nicky Hilton Rothschild.
Guests included Kris Jenner, Kimora Lee Simmons, Rachel Zoe, Derek Blasberg, Elisha Cuthbert, China Chow, Gigi Gorgeous, Tina Craig, Nikki Haskell, Tina Leung and Christine Chiu.
Throughout the day guests enjoyed making their own floral bouquets. The bars were decorated with floral arrangements that held the Fleurs de Prairie Rosé and Beau Joie Champagne.
The wine and champagne were the perfect accompaniment to a menu that was modeled after the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel, one of Kathy's favorites.
The birthday was filmed from set up to end for Peacock's “Paris In Love” Season 2 and is expected to air in the fall of 2023.

Creating a signup sheet has never been easier than with Evite! Here’s how to create a sheet that’s sure to make your event an absolute success:
When it comes to signup sheet information, there are some essentials to include regardless of what you’re organizing:
When adding your slot information, clearly define what people are signing up for, especially for a what-to-bring list or role assignments. If you want someone to bring healthy snacks for kids to enjoy after a game, specify that. You want your volunteers to feel confident in what they’re bringing and to make it easy for them to know what’s expected of them. It will save them time and stress (and you, too!). That being said, if you make your ask too specific (for example, asking for a hard-to-source item or something expensive), you may not end up with a volunteer for it. So be clear about what you expect, but also be reasonable!
Aside from providing the basic signup information, you can also add optional descriptions to both your entire signup sheet and individual slots. While not required, they can help guide your volunteers further and provide more information. You can add information about allergies, preferences and general info about the event. You can also add a wish list to make it easier for your volunteers to bring exactly what you need!
Signup sheet templates offer a ton of advantages for both organizers and volunteers and with Evite SignUp Sheets, you'll enjoy even more benefits than other digital and paper signup sheets! Some benefits our signup sheet templates offer include:
