We’ve waited TWO whole years for season 3 of Bridgerton to come out, and while I wish I was as patient about that as Penelope Featherington is about Colin Bridgerton, I’m not. (I’m lying—girl, you have a thriving career as a secret gossip columnist and he’s just a guy with a bulky cravat collection…YOU CAN DO BETTER.)
As we’re being served up season 3 this May and June, it truly is the perfect excuse to enter your Regency Era and throw a Bridgerton party for you and your besties! Bridgerton is no stranger to reimagining Regency hallmarks in a more modern way (like the string quartet version of “Wrecking Ball” and super colorful empire silhouette gowns) and neither are we.
Here’s a very modern guide (complete with my favorite Bridgerton-inspired goodies) to throwing a Bridgerton tea party!
Arguably the most important part of a tea party (absolutely no one wants to drink hot tea out of their hands), finding the perfect tableware is essential. Opt for reusable whenever possible—a pretty floral teacup and stirrer would be perfect as a surprise party favor—but whatever you do, make sure you have a profusion of petals across your tablescape.
Fresh flowers and a crisp floral tablecloth are the obvious decor for a Regencycore tea party, but it’s not all about the blossoms. Brass was everything in the Regency era, and while golden candlesticks were the go-to, if this is an outdoor party where a gentle breeze could signal the fiery demise of your lovely tablecloth with uncovered tapers about, my vote is for these ornate brass and glass hurricanes instead.
Floral flavors are a hallmark of the Regency era—think lavender, bergamot, orange blossom, jasmine and elderflower. Fresh fruit was still a luxury, with the hothouses of the rich boasting such delicacies as pineapples, strawberries, grapes, peaches and oranges, so serving those up alongside some dainty sweet treats and fragrant tea is a must if you want to feel like a Bridgerton. (Fun fact: Butterflies were a popular love symbol of the Regency era, and these edible wafer butterflies are the best thing Amazon’s offered since Prime was introduced.)
Picture this: Social media is still centuries away, Lady Whistledown has not published a new missive yet and you’re a hereditarily blessed lady or gentleman with servants at your beck and call. In short, you’re bored. How do you solve this? By going out and touching some grass (AKA, playing lawn games)! Pall-mall is beloved by the Bridgertons and their milieu, and modern-day croquet is the perfect alternative to this. If lawn games aren’t your group’s cup of tea, dancing and board games are also perfectly proper options.
Let’s be real: Actual Regency-era attire is wildly impractical and uncomfortable (even with empire waist dresses, women STILL wore corsets). So instead of cosplaying as your favorite character and being unable to eat the delicious treats laid out before you, go for Bridgerton-inspired details instead. Hair baubles with a sweet floral frock? Perfect. A cravat paired with a lightweight button-down shirt for the guys? Here for it.
Dearest gentle reader, speaking of party favors, while they aren’t required at a tea party, they are undoubtedly delightful to receive. Whether you decide to encourage your guests to embrace their inner Lady Whistledown with a white feather pen or keep with the floral theme, there are plenty of little gifts with a Bridgerton-inspired twist to keep the Regency vibes going long after the last cup of tea is enjoyed.
Last, but certainly not least (actually, this should probably come first) are the invitations! If you’re thinking about just sending a quick “Hey, tea party this Saturday?” DM to your friends on IG, DON’T. This was the era of calling cards, dance cards and florals (so many florals), so set the tone before the party begins. All you have to do is add the date, time, location and name of your tea party to one of our invitations, customize it with a background, envelope and stickers if you go Premium, then send it out via text, email or shareable link. Even Queen Charlotte herself would delight in receiving one of these invitations!

Creating a signup sheet has never been easier than with Evite! Here’s how to create a sheet that’s sure to make your event an absolute success:
When it comes to signup sheet information, there are some essentials to include regardless of what you’re organizing:
When adding your slot information, clearly define what people are signing up for, especially for a what-to-bring list or role assignments. If you want someone to bring healthy snacks for kids to enjoy after a game, specify that. You want your volunteers to feel confident in what they’re bringing and to make it easy for them to know what’s expected of them. It will save them time and stress (and you, too!). That being said, if you make your ask too specific (for example, asking for a hard-to-source item or something expensive), you may not end up with a volunteer for it. So be clear about what you expect, but also be reasonable!
Aside from providing the basic signup information, you can also add optional descriptions to both your entire signup sheet and individual slots. While not required, they can help guide your volunteers further and provide more information. You can add information about allergies, preferences and general info about the event. You can also add a wish list to make it easier for your volunteers to bring exactly what you need!
Signup sheet templates offer a ton of advantages for both organizers and volunteers and with Evite SignUp Sheets, you'll enjoy even more benefits than other digital and paper signup sheets! Some benefits our signup sheet templates offer include:
