By now, you’ve probably already seen what feels like a million ads telling you what moms want on Mother’s Day. And yes, there are loads of lovely options out there, but what else do actual moms truly want this Mother’s Day? We asked Alex Taylor, Co-Founder of Perelel, Kate Berry, Chief Content Officer of domino, and Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Jenna Caine Parris, Co-Hosts of Mama Said to find out!
Alex: More sleep, no dish duty for the day, and extra hugs and kisses from my kids.
Jamie-Lynn: 1. A massage gift certificate. 2. To sleep in. 3. An entire day where my boys don’t fight (REALLY).
Jenna: 1. The morning off. 2. The afternoon off. 3. The evening off. (Just kidding, but not really.)
Kate: Art from both Ian and Quinn (they’ve always collaborated on drawings and art), sharing a delicious meal together, and jewelry.
Alex: One year, my husband and son made me a beautiful video filled with our favorite moments together. They played it while they made me breakfast and I got to cozy up on the couch with our dog. It was the best and I love rewatching it.
Jamie-Lynn: Any homemade cards from my kids are my favorite. My oldest writes so well now, so knowing that he comes up with what to draw and write to me in cards feels extra special, because I know no one helped him.
Jenna: A beautiful bouquet of flowers that my kids helped pick out.
Kate: Art from Quinn.
Alex: I'd love to wake up and snuggle in bed with my kiddos, enjoy some pancakes and coffee, and then go on a nice hike together. Later in the day, I'd love to see my mom and grandmother to celebrate them too! That would make for an absolutely perfect Mother's Day.
Jamie-Lynn: I have actually been traveling so much for work lately, so I would love an entire phone-free day with my boys! Ideally wake up and go for a great brunch, go out on the lake here in Austin, followed by some swimming and a BBQ at our house. Being home with the 3 of them sounds like heaven to me right now.
Jenna: To wake up late (7am is late for me…I’ll take it), and have the kids come into the bed to cuddle for a little. Then, my husband takes them out so I can have some quiet time in the house to clean and get dressed. Next, brunch with the family, followed by a beach day and some more alone time until we all gather for a BBQ at home! And then finally, after the kids go to sleep, some wine with my husband. :)
Kate: Breakfast and table set while I’m chilling in bed, spending time with my family either cozying up or out and about, and sharing a delicious meal.

Long story short, SignUp Sheets save everyone involved tons of time, avoid scheduling headaches and ensure everything runs smoothly before and during the event.
Creating a signup sheet has never been easier than with Evite! Here’s how to create a sheet that’s sure to make your event an absolute success:
When it comes to signup sheet information, there are some essentials to include regardless of what you’re organizing:
When adding your slot information, clearly define what people are signing up for, especially for a what-to-bring list or role assignments. If you want someone to bring healthy snacks for kids to enjoy after a game, specify that. You want your volunteers to feel confident in what they’re bringing and to make it easy for them to know what’s expected of them. It will save them time and stress (and you, too!). That being said, if you make your ask too specific (for example, asking for a hard-to-source item or something expensive), you may not end up with a volunteer for it. So be clear about what you expect, but also be reasonable!
Aside from providing the basic signup information, you can also add optional descriptions to both your entire signup sheet and individual slots. While not required, they can help guide your volunteers further and provide more information. You can add information about allergies, preferences and general info about the event. You can also add a wish list to make it easier for your volunteers to bring exactly what you need!
Signup sheet templates offer a ton of advantages for both organizers and volunteers and with Evite SignUp Sheets, you'll enjoy even more benefits than other digital and paper signup sheets! Some benefits our signup sheet templates offer include:
